Debe Haller, CEO/Principal   ~   Danny Haller, CFO

First, and foremost, we are sinners saved by grace.

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. –Ephesians 2:8, 9

Danny and Debe were married on April 22, 1972.  They have four adult children and nine grandchildren. Their two sons and two daughters graduated from Hope between 1991 and 2006. The first second-generation Hope student, grandson Bryan "Bubs" Haller, graduated in June 2015.  Danny retired in April 2011 after over thirty years at Boeing.  They began homeschooling during the 1984-85 school year when their oldest children were in 2nd and 5th grade.  As a respected leader and speaker in home education for nearly thirty years, Debe loves to share truth and humor through Biblical principles and practical applications she has learned by God’s grace to be a wise wife, a creative parent, and a resourceful and organized homeschooler.  Debe is the author of The Challenge of Raising Cain and co-authored with Bethany Bennett,  Mrs. Mom: Agonized or Organized.  Read Danny and Debe's story from the beginning to now of Hope Christian Academy A Hopeful Heart

Cuqui Younger
High School Director

Cuqui Younger is currently in her twenty-seventh year of homeschooling.
She and her husband of 33 years, Terry, have guided five of their six daughters through their education and graduation from Hope.  They've also been b
lessed to watch their oldest five daughters graduate again -- one from junior college, three from university, and one from law school.  More than degrees obtained or knowledge gained, however, Cuqui treasures her friendships with her girls, and the gifts that God has given her in being able to nurture those relationships through homeschool.  Their oldest two daughters are married.  Terry and Cuqui have been blessed with one granddaughter and two more grandchildren are expected this year: one in August and another in October.  Cuqui has served as a director at Hope for over 20 years. She is the guidance counselor for parents of college bound high school students.

Renee Poon
Administrative Director

Renee Poon and her husband Daniel celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary in June 2015.  Prior to homeschooling, she worked as an associate teacher in 4th grade at Grace Christian School for three years.  They began homeschooling their two daughters, Amanda and Melanie in 2007.  In 2010 she was the director for Classical Conversations, tutoring 13 year-olds to think as classical Christian students. Renee was parent advisor to Hope's Junior Beta members Club from 2009-12.  Amanda and Melanie actively participated in various programs at HOPE, including ACSI meets, the performance groups, DOTS and Dickens Handchimes, Beta Club, and American Heritage Girls. Renee serves on the American Heritage Girls Troop 4673 as Secretary and assistant Pioneer/Patriot Unit Leader.  She enjoys meeting new families and hearing how God has guided them in their homeschooling journey.  Renee looks forward to meeting you in person.

Heather Taylor
Care Group Director

Heather married Aaron Taylor in January of 2006.  Their first son arrived 9 months (to the date!) after their wedding, and life hasn’t slowed down yet!  Heather has a very unique background to homeschooling, as she homeschooled her cousin (12th grade) and her sister-in-law (10-12th grades) long before her own three boys began their formal education.  Before that, Heather was a Christian school teacher (1st, 5/6 combo, jr high electives) and was a private math tutor/music teacher. Although Heather was never homeschooled, her sister is a HOPE alumni, and she is sure her mother secretly homeschooled her every summer vacation!  In addition to the daily homeschool schedule, Heather is a tutor/tutor-trainer with Classical Conversations, and is the Director for her church’s AWANA Cubbies program.  Her husband and three sons are active in Hope's TrailLifeUSA Troop 4673.  Heather and the boys also are part of the HOPE Music Program and Dickens Handchimes.  Heather was a Care Group leader last year, and loves any opportunity to chat with other homeschool moms!
